Think your site is good enough to be included on the List? Email us at submit@rantlister.com and let us take a look.
Once we receive your submission, the seven members of the Rantlister Council will vote on whether or not your site will be accepted. Usually a decision will be made within several days, but please give us a maximum time of two weeks to make this decision. We will send you an email with our decision.
If you are rejected, we will supply you with the most commonly agreed upon reasons. This does not mean that you are permanently excluded from the List. Take our criticism into consideration, and resubmit your site in two months.
Should your site be accepted, we ask that you place a link to Rantlister on your site. We are doing you the favor of promoting you, so you can do us the favor of assisting in the promotion of your fellow ranters who are also on the List.
Here are some ways to help ensure that your site is accepted:
- Your site must be at least 2 months old and have no less than 6 articles.
- NO POP-UP ADS. We understand that free hosts place ads on your site, but having pop-ups is unnecessary. If you are having difficulty finding a host who doesn’t place pop-ups on your site, considering applying at our sister site, RantHost.
- NO PERSONAL BLOGS. Just because you’ve written one or two rants on your blog doesn’t make it a rant site. Nobody wants to read about your day-to-day life.
- NO MYSPACE PAGES. There are plenty of free hosts out there.
- Your site must be easy to navigate. If we can’t find your updates within a minute of opening your page, chances are your site’s hard to navigate.
- Decent spelling and grammar is a must. This isn’t English class, but we don’t feel like spending 5 minutes trying to decode your illegible typing. Paragraph spacing is also beneficial.
- Provide your own thumbnail. It’s a pain in the ass to have to make our own for your site. Thumbnails should be 130 x 32 pixels.
Sites submitted by fans go through the same procedures as mentioned above.
